Ocean Park is

varied and tempered by the Atlantic Ocean—the Labrador current,
and the proximity of the Gulf of Maine to the Gulf Stream, both
summer and winter. The activity of these ocean currents, offshore
from the Gulf of Maine, result in more moderate summer temperatures
and warmer winter temperatures than expected in this northern latitude.
The average
summer temperature is in the 70's and winter days on the coast average
32 degrees. Coastal Maine may experience a week or two of 90 degree
plus temperatures during the summer. Cool ocean water in the summer
results in frequent early morning fog, particularly when the there
is a significant temperature difference between the cool water and
the warm land. On average coastal Maine experiences 80 -120 sunny
days per year.
